First Post

Hello friends! My name is April and I am brand new to the practice of yoga. In my search for information on how this process changes you mentally, physically and emotionally, I was unable to find any blogs about one's personal journey through yoga, staring from the beginning. At first I was simply discouraged, but then I remembered what my dad always told me. He'd say "April, find something not very many people do, and then do it and do it well." Well, this is my attempt at a blog of beginner's journey through yoga!

I'm doing this blog for a few reasons.

First for myself. I want to see how I progress through the process of yoga. I feel that one day I'll wake up and think back and realize all the changes yoga has had in my life, but without documentation, I may not realize truly how much it has changed me.

Second to  be held accountable. I feel like I could easily just do a journal of my progression through yoga, but if I share it with others I will be held accountable for:
  1.  Sticking to my yoga practice. When I am held accountable to finish what I start, I won't fizzle out when no one's looking. Also, when I'm feeling discouraged I can look back on all my progress and see how energized and happy yoga makes me feel.
  2. My writing. Another passion of mine is writing. I currently don't have an outlet for personal expression, so I'm using this as an outlet. But again, I know I could easily write in a journal. However, when I know someone will be reading this I'll actually pay attention to my writing style, punctuation, etc.
So if you would like to see yoga through the eyes of a beginner, please feel free to read on! I am NOT an expert or even an intermediate yogi, I am a beginner. I am wobbly at best and these are my words.
